Al Ahli lift Al Jazira Cup title

In the final played on Monday, the 2012 ACL finalists defeated hosts Al Jazira 1-0 with new recruit Suk Hyun-jun scoring solitary winner for the Saudi Arabian side.

Suk, signed from Portuguese side CS Maritimo a month ago, found the net in the 12th minute. The 22-year old striker had a chance to double his tally but failed to convert a penalty kick in the 43rd minute.

Likewise, defending AFC Cup champions Kuwait SC defeated Al Nahda of Oman 7-1 in the third place playoff match.

Al Ahli will host Korea Republic side FC Seoul in the first leg of the quarter-finals in two weeks time while Kuwait SC travel to Maldives to meet AFC Cup’s surprise package New Radiant SC next month.
