Muller: Bayern can't afford early season slip-ups
Янгиликлар эълонThomas Muller realises Bayern Munich will not be forgiven for any early season slip-ups under new coach Pep Guardiola as the club are always expected to win.и
Bayern entertain Borussia Monchengladbach in a Bundesliga curtain-raiser on Friday, with fans' expectations raised following the acquisition of Guardiola and midfielders Thiago Alcantara and Mario Gotze to a side already brimming with talent.
The Allianz Arena outfit won a historic treble under Jupp Heynckes last term and the 23-year-old attacker is under no illusions of what is expected of him and the club this year.
"I am really looking forward to the start of the Bundesliga season, just like everybody else in Germany," Muller was quoted as saying by Bild.
"The expectations are always high and that will not be any different this season. Winning is all that matters at Bayern.
"We want to live up to the expectations and will always try to win.
"Games against Gladbach are never easy. They are organised very well. We will have to give our all if we are to win."
Bayern beat Gladbach 5-1 in a pre-season friendly earlier this summer.
