AFC President congratulates young Uzbeks

Uzbekistan got the better of Greece 3-1 in the Round of 16 encounter and will now face France in the last-eight stage on July 6.  Shaikh Salman said that the entire Asian football family is elated at the achievements of the young Uzbeks.  “This is a moment of pride not only for Uzbekistan but for the entire Asian football family. I would like to congratulate you and all the followers of Uzbekistan football for this fantastic success,” he added.  “The Uzbeks have been a dominant force in age-group competitions in the recent past and their maiden title at the AFC U-16 Championship in Iran last year is proof of their growing stature.  “I would like to wish the Uzbekistan U-20s the very best for their quarter-final against France and I am confident that they will fly the Asian flag high.”
